Braga is a "honey moon" spot too?

Sævig Kristian Fluge is the number 10 of the Norwegian School of Economics male futsal team. He arrived in Braga two days ago but he brought someone really special with him: his wife, Veslemoy Kleveland Sævig. They’ve been married for only two weeks and are already experiencing a “second honey moon”. Find out more on this interview.

When did you get married?

Veslemoy: About two weeks ago. July the 6th.

How did you come up with this idea of coming to this championship together? Is it like a “second honey moon”?

Veslemoy: They needed a team leader.

Kristian: Official, I think it’s called. And last year she also joined in Coimbra.

Do you like this work of being their official?

Veslemoy: Yeah, very much, although I don’t have any connection with sports.

Have you already had your real honey moon?

Veslemoy: Yes, we were in Barcelona last week and then we flew here.

In your opinion, what is the best moment in the competition so far?

Kristian: When we scored the first goal against Italy. That was great and today we also scored against Russia, the first goal. So the minutes after you score the goal and you actually believe that you are going to win the game. That’s the best feeling!

And the best place in Braga?

Kristian: We haven’t been in that many places yet because we’ve only been here for two days.

Veslemoy: The city centre is very nice! Beautiful!

Have you heard that it’s now UNESCO WORLD’S PATRIMONY?

Kristian: Really? We are from Bergen actually and they have a place called Bryggen which also is an UNESCO’s world heritage.

You should check this one out.

Kristian: Yeah, yeah, sure.

Do you think that winning this competition would be a nice gift for your wife?

Kristian: Yeah. That’s why I tried so hard.

But now it’s not possible to win anymore. What went wrong this time?

Kristian: Well, they haven’t been so disciplined and trained as a team. Actually we haven’t trained for a couple of months because of exams. We are students after all. So we haven’t set a great team yet. Last year we reached the quarter finals and got to the eighth place. Also that time we didn’t have so much training but all the players were very well connected. This year we have other players and they haven’t been so much with us. So now it’s very new and we didn’t get the chance to play each other so well yet. So I think that’s the main problem for us this year.

What do you expect now from the competition?

Kristian: Actually I think the rest of the games are going to be a little bit more relaxing and against less tough opposition. But now we can have a bit more fun and focus a little bit more on the social part of the week and have more fun in the next games.
