Braga gives the kick off at the EUC Futsal 2019

The first game at the “Complexo desportivo da Universidade do Minho” was between two teams from group B: Norwegian School of Economics vs University of Camerino. The University of Camerino started the game better and opened the score at the minute 13. The answer from the Norwegian School of Economics came 2 minutes later. The italians increased the advantage in the minute seven, after they were given a corner. Before the half time, the norwegians still had time to tie the game: 2-2.

In the second half, the norwegians breathed little air given the overwhelming dominance of the italians. The rain of goals began in the first minute. The only threat from the University of Norway was at 17, after a poor pass from the italians. From that moment on, Italy started a rout and won 2-7.

In the second game, University of Warsaw faced University of Munster, in wich was the first game of the group C. The University of Warsaw came in determined to win the game and the result at half-time is well demonstrative of that: 3-0. In the second twenty minutes, the University of Munster came from the locker room wishing to give a turnaround to the result. However, they were not able to win the match that ended up getting 4-3.

Finally, the third and last game at “Complexo Desportivo da Universidade do Minho” put face to face the University of Reims Champagne Ardenne and the Lviv Polytechnic National University. The University of Reims Champagne Ardenne even scored the first goal of the match at the minute 17, but when the ukrainians made their first, five minutes later, it became difficult to stop them. At the 14 minute of the first half, Lviv Polytechnic National University was already winning by 1-5. However, the Reims side still managed to reduce the deficit and make it 2-5. But the first half would not end without one more goal from the ukrainians, who went to the locker room winning by 2-6.

The second half had fewer goals, but not less emotion than the first. The french wanted to win the match and the ukrainians wanted to keep the result. The only goals would be scored by the Reims team at twelve, thirteen and fourteen minutes. The final score was 4-6.

The first game at the “Pavilhão de Lamaçães” was marked by the intensity imposed by the two teams. From Croatia came the University of Orsijek, who entered with all the gas in the competition, reaching the first three points of group D. The victory by 5-1 against the College of Management Academic Studies, from Israel, motivated the croats. Even before the end of the first half, the israelite team reduced the advantage, but could not counteract the effectiveness of the Orsijek athletes.

Also in Group D, Karazin Kharkiv National University, from Ukraine, faced the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria in a game played until the last minute. The portuguese entered better in the match, reaching the half-time winning by 2-0. However, the ukrainians woke up in the second half of the match, which allowed them to go back to the marker. With the well composed pavilion, Karazin Kharkiv National University managed to score the winning goal seconds before the final whistle and secured a 4-3 victory.

The Altice Braga Forum received two matches of group E. After winning the gold medal last year, the University of Malaga arrived in Braga with the ambition to revalidate the trophy. Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University complicated the task of the spanish, going both teams to the locker room with a tie to zero on the score board. Without too many shots in the first half, the two teams extended the game to the wings, in an attempt to reach the goal. The experience of the spanish secured them a victory by 2-1 over the german tactics.

In the last game of the day, the University of Coimbra, which reached the first place in Portugal, faced the University of Kiel. The portuguese showed they were not in Braga to joke around and defeated the germans by 13-1. With this result, the University of Coimbra takes the lead of group E, accompanied by the University of Malaga.
