From 29 of April to 10 of May, in the city of Guimarães, the Portuguese University Championships were held with the participation of 12 men's futsal teams and 12 women's futsal teams from higher education institutions throughout the country.

During the two weeks of competition, about 350 athletes participated in the futsal competition, where all of them ended up having contact with the promotion of the EUC Futsal 2019.

In the men's competition, the final was played between the host team of the University of Minho and the team of the University of Coimbra, winning the Coimbra team with a final result of 3-2.

The bronze medal of men's futsal was won by the team of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria.

In the women's competition, the host team of the University of Minho won the gold medal after winning by 3-0 the team of the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto. The bronze medal of women's futsal was won by the team of the University of Évora.

The men's final was televised and the women's final was broadcast via streaming.

The next major European-level futsal event takes place in Braga from July 15 to 23.
